First Time Homebuyer

On March 5, 2009 a fire in the basement apartment of the house I was renting for the last 19 years, demanded that I relocate temporarily, (so I thought). Luckily, I had renter's insurance and was temporarily housed in a furnished apartment, while waiting for the owners of my rental house to decide if they were going to rebuild. In the meantime, I was told by my insurance company that I only had a month left to find permanent housing, since they would only pay for 3 months..Not wanting to be in a position of other people's negligence putting my life in danger again, at the age of 55, I wondered if it was possible for me to become a homeowner.

Homeless and scared, I called my cousin (my go-to person) and he told me to call Deeb Realty and ask for Sue Henson. Deeb Realty had sold one of his family's homes in the past and it was a very pleasant, low pressure experience.

Over the next couple weeks, we looked at a LOT of houses. Often I would get discouraged, but my DEEB Agent was always positive and patient, and would say, "Don't worry, your home is out there and we'll find it".

With time running short, we ventured out for a long day on Saturday. Getting closer to the end of the list, I was losing hope. We pulled up to the last one of the day, and once I walked in the door, I knew it was the house I wanted. I submitted an offer, it was accepted, and Sue went to work again.

Through Deeb Realty, I was put in touch with a reputable and wonderful Home Inspector, the loan officer virtually worked miracles with the time given, and the Title Company treated me like family. We closed in record time and I got to move in a home that was so much more than I ever expected. With my DEEB Agent, the loan officer and the title company with me at closing,it was one of the greatest days of my life.

Sue even paid to have all the locks re-keyed in my new house for my safety!
